Big Moves and Bold Learning
Dear Paddocks Press Fans
February has been an exciting whirlwind for us at Paddocks, and we’re thrilled to share the highlights with you!
We kicked off the month with an exclusive invitation to the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Advisory Council’s stakeholder meeting, where we joined a select group of industry experts to discuss potential legislative changes. It was a fantastic opportunity to give input on pressing issues affecting sectional title schemes, and I’ve put together an article summarising the key discussions so you can stay ahead of the latest developments.
Then came something truly groundbreaking—our first-ever Next Gen Learning courses! We ran a one-week Advanced Sectional Title Scheme Management course focusing on four difficult ‘grey areas’ at an advanced level, and a one-day Advanced Sectional Title Financial Management course, packed with fast-paced, immersive learning. We experimented with conversational lectures, peer-learning, and even an AI tutor! The feedback from students was incredible, and we can’t wait to roll out more exciting short courses soon.
Watch this space for what’s coming next!
We hope your February has been just as energising as ours.
Best,
Jennifer Paddock

- Orders Dealing with Exclusive Use Areas: Exclusive use areas and rights are one of the more difficult areas of sectional title scheme management, often misunderstood by managing agents, trustees and owners.

- Orders Dealing with Nuisance: Defining nuisance can be incredibly difficult within sectional title scheme management, encompassing, noise, smell, animals, personal attacks, mental harassment and more.
- Orders Dealing with Short-Term Letting: How do these orders relate to short-term letting, such as Air BnB. The CSOS can give orders that are related to short-term letting and this Casebook helps one navigate these with the knowledge needed.
- Orders Dealing with Recovery of Monies: What are the rules around recovering monies? The CSOS can give orders for the payment, or re-payment, of money (orders under section 3(1)(e) of the CSOS Act).
- Orders Dealing with Animals in a Scheme: The most-asked questions are centered around animals in community schemes. The CSOS can give orders that are related to animals in a scheme (orders under section 39(2)(b) of the CSOS Act).
