A New Chapter in Online Learning: 1-day and 1-week online courses

Twenty years ago, Paddocks offered its first online STSM course. Since then our courses and online teaching methods have continuously evolved, driven by market demand, our students' feedback and emerging technologies.

Now we're excited to announce another leap forward. We are creating an additional suite of 1-day and 1-week “NextGen” Paddocks online courses that thoughtfully integrate artificial intelligence with our traditional teaching. Jennifer and I will continue to lead the teaching, now enhanced by AI systems that can adapt to individual learning needs while fostering deeper student interactions and peer learning.

To our valued past and current students – thank you for being part of our journey of innovation in community scheme management education. We wish you a prosperous 2025 and look forward to sharing this exciting new chapter with you soon.

Warm regards,

Adj. Prof. Graham Paddock

PADDOCKS SHEDS LIGHT ON CURRENT ISSUES

Who is responsible if the problem is underneath an EUA?

In sectional title schemes, the question of who is responsible for maintaining and repairing infrastructure often creates confusion, especially when such infrastructure runs in or beneath exclusive use areas. Adj. Prof. Graham Paddock explores the legal principles that govern this issue, using the water pipe as an example and focusing on the interplay between various provisions of the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act 8 of 2011.

The Body Corporate of San Sydney v Shivani Singh and Others: A Case Analysis

This case analysis builds on a series of articles, Lessons for Sectional Title Management, that explore case outcomes for learning. In this case, the Body Corporate incorporated into the scheme three additional buildings that the scheme developer had built on common property without legal permission. They needed the written consent of all sectional owners and unit bondholders. One owner refused!

Pets in Sectional Title Schemes

In this short podcast, Jennifer Paddock provides guidance around a topic that emerges with regularity -- pets in community schemes. What does the law say about keeping pets and is a Body Corporate entitled to adopt a ‘no pet’ rule, banning pets entirely? Are some pets allowed, but not others? What about emotional support animals? What can a Body Corporate do if it wants a pet removed?
